Use your 12-digit Trainer Code found by tapping your profile icon in the top-left, then 'Friends', then 'Add Friend'. You can also use the QR code option. After accepting a friend request, you can send gifts daily and open gifts received from friends once per day.
Lucky Friends are a special Best Friend sub-tier earned randomly when you and a Best Friend open a gift together. Once you become Lucky Friends, your next trade is guaranteed to produce a Lucky Pokémon (minimum 12/12/12 IVs) with a reduced Stardust cost of 50 per trade for the following 30 days.
Your Trainer Code is a 12-digit number found in your Profile → Friends tab. Tap 'Add Friend' to reveal your code, which you can share. You can also use the QR code next to it. Once someone sends you a request, accept it to add them. Friend codes posted on community platforms are a common way to grow your trainer network.
You can send up to 20 gifts per day and open up to 20 gifts per day from friends. Best Friends earn a special XP bonus on interaction, and opening gifts at Best Friend level grants an exclusive avatar item and additional XP. The XP scaling applies per friendship level.
